Not sure if you're interested in merging this, but wanted to propose it anyway...
This will report parameter "Ux release" (shown together with "Ux version" under "OS" int he lovelace card) based on the contents of the
/etc/os-releasefile if it exists (fallback is current implementation).It sets the value either to "$ID $VERSION_CODENAME" (e.g. "ubuntu noble") or to "$ID $VERSION_ID" (e.g. "ubuntu 24.04") as a fallback since VERSION_CODENAME is optional and not set by all distros.
