Scripts takes ~90 seconds to load - Esc, Caps lock, and Tab keys all disabled during load time

Since updating to 1.60 release (happened with 1.60.0 yesterday and 1.60.1 today) in game when I launch the Exile UI.ahk script my Escape, Capslock, and Tab keys are all disabled for about 90 seconds. Additionally, holding ESC does not bring up the menu-widget. Once the script starts working, if I close it out and re-run it the result is repeatable. Approximately 90 seconds to load each time.

I played with the 1.60 release for about 5 hours yesterday and the Act-Tracker widget would stop updating between zones occasionally (about once every 30 minutes) and during that time my ESC, Caplocks, and Tab keys also get disabled. Eventually it would resolve and catch up to where I was without me restarting the script.

I have deleted all old instances of the Exile UI script, redownloaded AHK v1.1 (64-bit), and have no other add-ons running.

Could you check the file size of the client.txt in the game's logs folder?

file size was large before I posted the issue, ~100MB. I deleted client.txt, restarted game, and verified client.txt had cleared. Issue persisted after that. Current client.txt file is 293 KB and I've had the issue described in the original post after clearing the file.

Sounds a bit like #660 but more extreme. It's possible the tool is getting stuck somehow when checking for new updates/announcements. The update-check can be disabled and is also disabled by default. To disable the announcement-check, you have to modify the Exile UI.ahk file, using a text-editor:

This is line 899. If you place a semi-color at the beginning of the line, the announcement-check will not be performed. See if that changes anything.

Disabling the announcement-check resolved the boot time issue! I'll have to report back later to see if it also resolved the sporadic freezes with the Act-Tracker.

Huh, that's good and (kind of) bad news. Potentially related question: Is your tool-folder being cloud-synched (Google Drive, OneDrive, etc)?

Played for a few hours this evening and experienced no issues with the Act-Tracker freezing. Seems that was tied to the announcement-check as well. The Exile-UI folder is on my C-drive (C:\Users...\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile). I do not have any cloud syncing software on.

If it's possible, you should try moving the tool folder to a different drive and see if that changes anything as well.
If not, you'll simply have to re-apply the modification after every tool update. GLHF
