Support my open source work on DeFlock, a site that tracks Automated License Plate Readers (ALPRs) across the world. I created this site due to recent deployments of these surveillance devices to over 6,000 communities across the US. Doing this requires infrastructure and services that I've had to upgrade and pay for with my own money. I'd like to keep DeFlock alive and sustainable without my monetary support, so any contributions are appreciated and will go directly to infrastructure-related bills and legal representation.
Luckily, I've recently been able to drop a major cost (~$80/month). Unfortunately, Flock has made multiple threats in the form of cease & desist letters, but the EFF has helped us so far. As we've grown, we've also had unexpected AWS costs as we worked to optimize our infrastructure. Our cost is quite low now, and we're working on making it even cheaper to run.

- DeFlock VPS - $6/month
- FlockAudits VPS - $6/month
- AWS - $2/month typically, although it has spiked to ~$30
Future Costs
- Map Tiles - $10/month
- PostGIS DB - $30/month
Reaching this goal will allow me to continue to run DeFlock, specifically paying for map tiles, as the site recently gained a lot of traction. This will also help fund new features such as on-site reporting, navigation around ALPRs, and various infrastructure improvements.
