Proposed solution

In addition to graphics cards, this project should provide some way for the operator of the streetmerchant server to track other items on supported marketplaces, like hard-to-get laptops or home necessities (like baby formula; god forbid we have another pandemic).

Goals

I've been trying for ages to get my hand on a AMD Strix Halo laptop, like the Z13, but scalper bots are unfortunately just too fast for me to compete with. Having an open source project like this at our disposal would be fantastic.

Non-goals

It may be possible to create an API that would allow users to add tracked products dynamically, but I think this would be dangerous and is best left to further discussion.

Anti-goals

It could allow the use of this tool for mass-scraping, but I doubt it so long as it requires some hands-on configuration. I think getting hard-to-get laptops is pretty in-scope for this project.

You can really add anything you want to the program. There are a lot of people who have added laptops, shoes, Pokemon cards, etc... You just need to modify some of the code.

Ah understood. In that case it could be possible for something to be done, maybe a links file in the root directory that you can copy paste stuff into. The problem is that streetmerchant requires a series brand and model to be defined in store.ts, then when you add the links to storename.ts you assign those properties to the links. I think that it is easier to manually add the items you are looking for rather than rebuild the core functionality of the program. You would need to parse aspects of the product from the link along with the store names, find the selectors for the in stock triggers, etc... and pray that a retailer doesnt make a change to their website and break the program.
