Idea: Provide source in elements

So implementations can just take the source if they do not support the new element and display it as text.

maybe problematic with markdown where you can have bold elements like links, so **https://delta.chat** would not be linkify-ed if markdown parsing is enabled and the ui has not implemented the bold element.

I would like to be able to copy text with the original markdown, if not by default when right-clicking and copying (or whatever the client might do to copy a whole message without selecting text) then at least as an additional context menu option. It can come in handy quite often.

on delta chat desktop:
copy text copies the original text on desktop, if you do a selection then it copies the rendered markdown as rich text

Perfect! Not sure how it works on all platforms but that's a good solution in my eyes.
