Looking for Guidance to Start Contributing to JdeRobot (Python, C++, ML, java)

Hi everyone!
I’m Anmol, and I’m excited to start contributing to JdeRobot. I’ve been exploring the Robotics Academy, GitHub repositories, and past issues, and I’m very interested in contributing long-term.Before I dive in, I would love some guidance from mentors.

My Skills

• Python ,ML models, automation
• C++
• Machine Learning
• Web Dev: React/Next.js
• Tools: Git/GitHub, Jupyter

What I Need Help With

1. Which project or repository should I start with?

2. Are there recommended first issues for new contributors?
   If there is a specific repo that needs contributors right now, please let me know.

3. Any setup mistakes I should avoid?
   Since JdeRobot projects involve ROS, Gazebo, Python/C++, I want to ensure I start with the right environment.

I’m motivated to learn, contribute regularly, and become part of the community.
Any guidance from mentors would be greatly appreciated!

the best way to start contributing is using our software projects. I suggest you use our Unibotics web platform for robot programming and solve there one or two RoboticsAcademy exercises. Share here the demo videos of your working solutions and your questions. After that, playing with RoboticsAcademy repo is the natural next step and then become a RoboticsAcademy developer.

The landing process takes time, go ahead :-) you'll receive more feedback and guidance after the first steps.
