Can't install yay, nor paru nor nothing while trying to install HyDE after archinstall

It is supposed that if you're root, you'll have troubles. But in my case I'm not.
No matter if I select Yay, Paru or anything else, I'llhave the same trouble. The rest of options are ok.

My Guess is you run install.sh as root. I will add a check to terminate the installation if users use sudo for install.sh.

Why don't you try to do the installation in VMware or another VM? I wasn't using root as far as I know.

About how I created the user, I've just created it following the archinstall script. Later on I said 'yes' to the chroot that is after the archinstall script. And I was following your guide with just putting the commands in the terminal, kinda easy. Sadly I had this error.

Are you using QEMU or VB as a virtual machine? I was using VMware in windows. What if you replicate the same process? If you can, using windows with VMware Workstation Pro; after the installation you say yes to the chroot in order to put your commands. It'll take for you like 10 min or less.

I was just doing a normal and minimal installation using archinstall, nothing heavy haha. But I'll keep trying. Perhaps changing the my timezone to USA &/or trying another VM. Both gave me problems in the past.

Also, no matter if it's my fault or a bug, I wanted to say you have a beautiful preconfigured setup of Hyprland, I saw many rices there and your setup is perfect ♥

Great news, I've installed almost everything correctly. The fault was the timezone where I am in my travel, in this place. When you mentioned to me at the beggining:

I think your issue is your internet connection [...]

My mind made click with an issue I had in the past. When I was trying to install Ubuntu with this timezone, I had troubles installing it two years ago and I was moved to use an USA location. Likewise, with Arch I just leave UTC as default and everything worked great. Apparently packages and many things don't install or don't download correctly with the timezone: America/Mazatlán.

It's not the fault of your setup, but something with arch. It's beyond my knowledge to know what happened.

Edit: what I'm trying to say is that some timezones will make you unable to download correctly some packages or parts of the installation of a Linux distro.

Btw, I think this trouble should be reported to the ones that are developing the arch distro or the ones who often do certain packages that this project needs. If I'm wrong on "who should be reported about this trouble" well, IDK, for being honest I'm a beginner in this things of Linux.

It won't be a good idea to have people from Mexico, south America, Africa or another zones or countries that will want to try this out and have this kind of troubles. Could be a good idea to mention this in the Q-A's also, by selecting another timezone (preferably North America, or Europe or something else that won't have troubles but matches the timezone). But, who can be the ones that we can report this? I mean, this project is not the trouble (and it's beautifully made), but something related with the distro, or the packages. I'm not sure.

Tried other distros and with some timezones in Mexico, and the problem prevails.

Should be reported to the distro. HyDE only tries to build on top of the distro the user chose.
