Dark Mode issue

Hi Everyone,

I’m having trouble getting applications like Chrome to recognize my system's dark theme. In the userprefs.conf file, I have set the following values:

exec = gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme $GTK_THEME
exec = gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface color-scheme $COLOR_SCHEME
env = QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME,qt6ct

For clarity, here are the actual values of the variables:

$GTK_THEME = Synth-Wave
$COLOR_SCHEME = prefer-dark

Despite this, nothing changes in Chrome, and it doesn’t seem to detect the dark theme.

I would appreciate any help or advice. Apologies if this is a basic question, but I haven’t been able to find a solution so far.

is chrome running on wayland?
Try Settings> Appearance then choose GTK and make the colorscheme use linux.

Would be nice to show a screenshot.

I bet it is X11
